The model Delta DI200, classic hand held XRF analyzer (Positive Metal Identification) is an alloy analysis utilizes a Fundamental Parameter (FP) algorithm to determine elemental chemistry. This method calculates chemistry from spectral data, without the requirement of stored fingerprints. All factory calibration data is stored and it is not require to user set – up or recalibration.
The PMI method covers the scope for analysis of Cu alloys, Nickel alloys, Cobalt alloys, Titanium alloys, Zinc alloys, Lead alloys, Tin alloys etc. The alloying elements include atomic no 22 (titanium) to 92 (uranium) such as Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, W, Hf, Ta, Re, Pb, Bi, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Sn, Sb. The residual elements include Se, Sr, Y, Cd, Bi, As etc. |

| This method is not applicable for analysis of alloying element below atomic number Z<21 viz. K, Ca, S, P, Si, Mg, Na, C, B, Be and Li. This method is also not applicable for any gaseous element such H, O, N, F, He, Ne, Ar. |
